Later in few years stairs and first floor area of 4000 sq.ft was constructed.
Previously it was called as sait shop(sait kadai), then it is called as terace shop (Meththai kadai/Maadi kadai).
Initially shop was constituted as partnership concern, with one of the partners as Chettiar Baba. In the year 1936, it was reconstituted as Sole Proprietor concern.
In the cities Kanjipuram, Arani and Tanjore, our shop was famous in trading Silk sarees. As same as Handloom Clothes, it was also famous for Mill Clothes. It was also famous for trading brands such as Gwalior, Bombay dyeing, Khatav, Tata etc.
While ration was announced for Binny Mill Cotton Clothes, Clothes for reasonable rates were supplied to all those who were issued tokens.
Despite Hindi language protest, same business in the same name was continued for three generation.
